Dissertation project management

Usually, dissertations are unlike other parts of your course. For example, you will typically work one-on-one with a member of academic staff. For many universities with high student numbers, this is the only time you will get to work in this way. So, it's important that this is as positive an experience as you can make it. That's where good project management comes in!

There are two essentials of good project management:

  • Managing other people
  • Managing yourself

The following pages aim to help you deal with some of these issues for your dissertation – namely managing your dissertation supervisor, and managing yourself.
